Selah

I came across a blog tonight that has changed me within the first few pages of reading it. I won't even begin to try and explain it, if you want to check it out for yourself here it is... Bring The Rain.

It was no coincidence coming across the beautiful blog. This has the fingerprints of God all over it--and I'm so grateful. This woman and her writing remind me of myself five years ago. A mourning and humbled woman who was leaning on her Heavenly Father for everything in her life including every breath.

I don't like who I've become lately. I don't mean that I'm horrible, but I do know that for various little reasons I have noticeably distanced myself from God and that has left a noticeable impact on my spirit as well as my fruit. The truth is that I miss Him. He is my life-source and as I've always said, He is good even on my bad days.
This scripture is one of the first things I read over at Bring The Rain and I don't believe that was any coincidence either. I love you Lord and I am so grateful for your loving, patient, merciful love and provision. I look forward to seeing the wonderful things that you have in store for my family.

Psalm 84
1 How lovely is your dwelling place,
O Lord Almighty!

2 My soul yearns, even faints,
for the courts of the Lord;
my heart and my flesh cry out
for the living God.

3 Even the sparrow has found a home,
and the swallow a nest for herself,
where she may have her young—
a place near your altar,
O Lord Almighty, my King and my God.

4 Blessed are those who dwell in your house;
they are ever praising you.
Selah

5 Blessed are those whose strength is in you,
who have set their hearts on pilgrimage.

6 As they pass through the Valley of Baca,
they make it a place of springs;
the autumn rains also cover it with pools.

7 They go from strength to strength,
till each appears before God in Zion.

8 Hear my prayer, O Lord God Almighty;
listen to me, O God of Jacob.
Selah
9 Look upon our shield, O God;
look with favor on your anointed one.

10 Better is one day in your courts
than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of the wicked.

11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
the Lord bestows favor and honor;
no good thing does he withhold
from those whose walk is blameless.

12 O Lord Almighty,
blessed is the man who trusts in you.

Here is a video that I came across about this family's story. I'm sure I'll be talking a lot about it over the next few days because it definitely impacted my heart. The husband is a singer from the group Selah and this is a video that one of their local churches did about their story. It's about 20 minutes long, so get comfortable--but I promise it's worth it.

I had heard this story back several months ago. So heartbreaking, but what deep, incredible faith! And their story is having an amazing impact on so many people! Thank you for sharing it again!!! God is good, even in the midst of deep, heart wrenching painful times!!!
